Eskişehir b. 1986
Aytuğ Aykut (Eskişehir, 1986) completed his undergraduate studies at Anadolu University's Painting Department and earned his doctorate at the Department of Art and Design at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. The artist has had the opportunity to present his works through biennials, solo, and group exhibitions, and he continues to work in the fields of painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics.
Aykut focuses on the relationship between humans and nature and its ecological implications by using sustainable materials. In doing so, he searches for traces and roots of images within the collective memory.
In his art, he strives to create a balance that saves the spontaneous from chaos and the technical from lifelessness. When choosing his subjects, his aim is to avoid being confined to the mundane while remaining aware of the questions and issues of the times. His desire to reach authenticity and the simplicity of the authentic with minimal movement, along with the experiences he encounters in this process, fuel his drive to create.
